Deprecation of Explori's legacy fixed AI open-text coding

As part of our update AI open-text analysis release, we're making changes to Explori's legacy AI open-text coding capability.

What's changing and when

Explori's legacy fixed thematic code frames, currently applied to NPS and Improvements questions, will be phased out over the coming months. Here's the timeline:

Stage Date What changes
Grace period From 17 June 2026 Legacy AI coding remains available to add to new surveys for 4 weeks
Stage 2 20 July 2026 Legacy AI coding can no longer be added to new surveys
Stage 3 31 August 2026 Full removal: legacy coding deprecated entirely, including for copied surveys

Why we're making this change

Fixed coding categories apply a generic set of themes regardless of what your respondents actually said. The new AI open-text analysis generates themes dynamically from the real content of each event's responses, giving you more relevant, specific, and actionable insight without any manual setup.

What this means for your existing surveys

If you already have legacy AI coding questions on existing surveys, nothing changes during the transition period. Your surveys will continue to work exactly as they do today; the questions and your existing data are all unaffected.

After full deprecation, if your open-text comments have already been coded up then this data will not disappear. However new open-text responses will not be coded up.

If you have any questions about the timeline or how this affects your account, please get in touch with your account manager or support@explori.com
