Using Explori’s AI open-text categorisation tool

Add advanced open-text response categorisation to standardised post-event survey questions, leveraging Explori's dedicated AI functionality

Explori AI

Explori's AI tool automates the process of analysing open-text responses to widely used post-event survey questions. This allows you to efficiently and consistently analyse your open-text data and gain deeper understanding of your audiences' thoughts and opinions.

Explori's AI tool has a dedicated code structure for each question, audience type and event type, meaning you can be safe in the knowledge that your comments have been accurately and consistently categorised while these categorisations are grounded in the context of events specifically.

Availability

Explori's AI tool is available across the following event and audience types and the following standardised Explori open-text questions (available through question library).

  • Trade events:
    • Visitors (NPS follow-up, Improvements)
    • Exhibitors (NPS follow-up, Improvements)
  • Consumer events:
    • Visitors (NPS follow-up, Improvements)
    • Exhibitors (NPS follow-up, Improvements)

Note: Explori's AI tool is not currently available for Conference and Corporate events (market facing, 3rd party and internal).

Adding AI categorisation to your survey

Explori's AI tool needs to be added to your survey and each question before collecting responses

Once you have added in one of Explori's standardised open-text question to your survey,  if AI categorisation is available then you will be prompted to 'Add AI categorisation' on each question.

Selecting 'Add AI categorisation' will add in a hidden question that primes your survey with relevant code structure ready for the Explori's AI to categorise your open-text responses once you begin collecting responses.

Where AI has been enabled, this will be displayed on each question

Tip: Where our AI categorisation is linked to multiple potential question e.g 'Detractors verbatim', 'Passives verbatim' and 'Promoters verbatim'. Selecting 'Add AI categorisation' to one of these questions will automatically enable AI on all questions

Caution: While the hidden AI categorisation question can be moved , we recommend keeping it with the verbatim questions in order to ensure that the tool works as intended.

Once the survey begins collecting responses, Explori's AI tool will automatically categorise each of the responses to the questions where AI categorisation has been enabled. This is done in real-time as responses are submitted.

Removing categorisation

AI categorisation can be removed from your survey if you no longer wish for this feature to be enabled. This will need to be done on each question.

  • On the question settings menu and select on 'Remove AI'.

Warning: If you survey is live and has existing response data that has been run through the AI categorisation, removing AI will prevent future categorisation and unlink existing categorisations which may result in loss of data.

Viewing the categorisation in Reports

As soon as your survey begins collecting responses to your AI categorised open-text questions, you will be able to view the categorisation in the 'Reports' tab.

The data will display similarly to multi choice question data and will show you the total number and proportion of comments that have been allocated to each category.

Note: Open-text responses can be attributed to multiple categories. For example...

"I loved the various networking sessions available, but the catering at the welcome drinks did not meet my expectations"

This open-text comment would likely be categorised into 'Networking' and 'Catering'

You can expand each of the categories by clicking on it to display the verbatim responses that have been attributed to that category.

Finding the question in the question library

You can find all the questions that AI categorisation is available for in Explori's question library (Start building your survey).

Search for the following terms and drag and drop the questions you need into your survey:

  • Improvements – How would you improve [eventname]?
  • Net promoter verbatim - Please tell us why you gave that score? i.e. recommending the event to a friend or colleague
  • Detractors verbatim - rated NPS 0-6 - What are the reasons for your rating?
  • Passives verbatim - rated NPS 7 or 8 - What would it take for you to give a 9 or 10 rating?
  • Promoters verbatim - rated NPS 9 or 10 - What specifically would you tell a business colleague or friend when recommending [eventname]?
